EastTexasMeshNet
A local mesh for East Texas
EastTexasMeshNet is a community effort centered on Nacogdoches and Lufkin, Texas. It is a learning project where people test devices and find useful repeater locations, share what they learn, and plan for a wider regional network.
Current work
Learning and testing locally
Neighbors are running devices, testing ranges, and learning what works in the pine woods and hills of East Texas.
Finding repeater locations
We are scouting good spots for repeaters, where a node placed high up can carry messages farther across the area.
Future plans
Regional connections
Exploring links between Nacogdoches and Lufkin. Any regional link is a concept until it is confirmed working.
BBS and personal mailboxes
A future bulletin board and personal mailboxes so people can leave and read messages over the mesh. Planned, not built yet.
See the vision explained
Watch Andy walk through the local network concept, the roles of companions and repeaters, and the roadmap for connecting East Texas communities.
What this is, and is not
The illustrations on this page are concepts, not coverage maps. No regional link or service should be treated as operational until it is confirmed. Today the work is local testing and learning. Tomorrow's regional network is a goal, not a promise.
